Jessica Marie Ruiz is a Physical Therapist working out of the Mililani clinic. She was born in the Philippines and raised in Mililani, where she attended and graduated from Mililani High School. After Highschool she went on to attend the University of New Orleans where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. She then went on to attend Hawaii Pacific University to get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, graduating in 2024. As a PT student, she worked with the general population and geriatrics, mainly orthopedic and neurological. Prior to becoming a PT, Jessica worked as a medical massage therapist in out-patient PT clinics. Her time with massage inspired her to think critically and problem solve soft-tissue injuries in different phases of healing. Now, having her training as a Physical Therapist gives an additional depth of understanding, where she can now figure out the root of the symptoms and set them for long-term gains. Within the year, Jessica will complete a certification program to become a Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS) through EIM to help chronic pain patients improve their treatment outcomes. Jessica wants to continue improving herself as a clinician to provide people with the best care possible. She chose this profession because she loves seeing people attain their rehabilitation goals and improve their quality of life. In her free time, she likes to listen to alternative music and podcasts about health and physical therapy. She also likes to cook and spend time with my family and friends.
